My mother, marked by the loss of her parents, has not returned to Abidjan since 2012. Her reluctance to the idea of my sister and me returning was understandable, but it was time to reconnect with our roots.

Through these pages, I wish to rekindle in my mother the desire to return to the country after so many years. This trip was an opportunity to rediscover my family and delve into the heart of my identity. It allowed me to explore aspects of myself that I barely knew.
